    Karl Oßwald was born in 1925 in Germany and passed away in 1972. He was a German graphic artist known for his mastery of lithography, particularly works featuring aquatint colouring. His oil paintings are rare, with one comparable example held by the Kunstmuseum Singen.

    After completing his military service, Oßwald earned his Abitur at the Gymnasium Singen. From 1948 to 1952, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe and the Technical University, where he passed the state examination as an art teacher in 1952. He completed his traineeship in Freiburg and Staufen, and from 1957, he taught art at the grammar school in Singen.
