Laxman Pai (b. 1926) . Laxman Pai received his art education at the Sir J. J. School of art in Mumbai, India and there received the prestigious Mayo medal. In 1951, he moved to Paris, together with his artist friend Sadanand Bakre, where they met the artists Syed Haider Raza, Francis Newton Souza and Akbar Padamsee, who had already settled there.
