Painter, cartoonist, set designer. He studied at the Lódz PWSSP under the direction of Wladyslaw Strzeminski. He was on a scholarship to Paris from 1948-49, where he attended Fernand Léger's Académie Moderne. He co-founded the ST-53 GROUP. In the 1950s, he painted dynamic paintings with geometrically simplified human and animal figures. In the late 1950s, he began to be fascinated by the matter and texture of the painting.
