    Leighton Cram was an obscure modernist painter in the tradition of Nettie Lazzell and Agnes Weinrich. He painted in and around Rockport, Massachusetts for most of his life and is noted for his cubist dissection of objects and landscape subjects in the composition.

    He studied with J.S. Ankeney and Charles Kaelin. He was a charter member of the Rockport Art Association, and exhibited in many eastern venues from the
    1930s-40s.
