    Léon Abramowicz was called Leo Abramowicz, and was born in 1889. He was an Austrian Jewish painter, collector and art dealer. He was a representative of the "lost generation".

    He studied from 1912-14, at the Munich academy with Carl Raupp and Ludwig von Herterich. In 1920, while based in Vienna, he was persecuted and expropriated after 1938 as a Jew. He fled to France, where there was an outbreak of WW2 camp internment. He managed to escape again.

    Leon Abramowicz passed away in 1978.
