    Dedicated to making abstract sculptured objects from plastic materials, Leo Amino was especially focused on materials that convey transparency . He often worked with resin, especiallly after World War II when plastic had been developed as a substitute for materials needed for the war.

    Leo Amino wrote of the beauty he found in transparent objects: "The shimmering colors of red or white wine in cut crystal glasses under candlelight never ceases to give great pleasure . . . Dealing with transparency, one becomes very conscious of the effects of different kinds of light." Herskovic 30)
