    Canadian born and raised in China, Japan, and Vancouver, Canada, Leroy Jensen was a figure and landscape painter and also an art teacher. He studied at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen and in Paris with Andre L'Hote.

    In 1954, he settled in Vancouver, where he opned his own painting studio and taught at the University of British Columbia. He belonged to the Limners, a Victoria-based group of artists who gathered for social and discussion purposes. Among his special artist friends were Jack Hardman, Peter Aspell, David Marshall, and George Fertig.
