    Llewellyn Petley-Jones was a painter born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He subsequently lived in London, England (1934), Paris (late 1930's), Vancouver, Canada (1951-1954), and Richmond, England (from 1955) where he died.

    His mediums were oil, watercolour and woodblock print. His subjects are landscapes, street scenes, portraits, harbours, coastal views, still life and abstract. The locations for his representational paintings are Alberta, British Columbia, Britain, France and Italy. His styles were realism, impressionism and abstraction. He is self taught and became a full time painter about 1930.
