    A pupil of Henri Harpignies and Hippolyte Pradelles, Cabié moved to Bordeaux around 1873 and worked in the region, on the grounds. He made many trips to Saintonge, where he depicted the countryside and the banks of the Charente near Cognac. The banks of the Gironde estuary, the views of Royan or the rocks of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne will be a regular playground until the end of his life.


    During his life in Bordeaux, he moved to Périgord where he met his second wife. From 1892, nearly a third of its work was carried out on the banks of the Vézère, still near the historic center of Les Eyzies.
