    Artist Louis Dorigny was born on 1654 in France. Son of the writer Michel Dorigny and grand-son of Simon Vouet by his mother, Louis Dorigny is a figure of the most original in the panorama of French painting of the seventeenth century. In fact his first name of Louis was soon forgotten and replaced by Ludovico that will remain for posterity. He was second twice in the contest prize of Rome, and it is with his own means that the young artist decided to go to Italy. Dorigny never returned to France, he became an Italian artist!
