About Luciano Spano

  • Biography

Luciano Spano was born in 1959 in Salizzo, Italy. He came to Mexico in 1974 as a refugee from World War II along with his grandfather and aunt. He found in painting a world in which he could express his loneliness and anguish, so he decided to develop their artistic talents formally, entering La Esmeralda, where he learned from important and outstanding teachers. Over the years, Spano's work began to structure his artistic profile, which is characterized by its lyrical and epic aspect. An example of this is "Pape Satan, Pape Satan aleppe", a painting describing the chorus exercised in the seventh song Hell Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, located on the fourth and fifth circle, where they are punished lavish, lazy shown and covetous, pLARA Elizondo, Lupine.
