    Ludwig Joseph Camillo Zumbusch, was born in 1861. He was a painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He was active in Munich.

    He studied at the Academy in Vienna with Christian Griepenkerl and Carl Wurzinger. From 1882, he studied at the Munich academy with Wilhelm of Lindenschmit the younger. Later, he studied at the Académie Julian in Paris under William Adolphe Bouguereau, and Tony Robert-Fleury.

    Additionally, he went on study trips to Italy, Holland, Dalmatia and Turkey. Since 1892, he has been a member of the Munich Secession. He was one of the first employees of the Munich magazine Youth. In 1905, he accepted the appointment as professor at the Munich Academy.
