    Luigi Zago was born in 1894 in Villafranca.

    Luigi Zago was a pupil of Vector Zanetti Zilla. His passion for painting was initially interrupted by the outbreak of the First World War, as Luigi Zago fought as an Alpine from 1915 to 1918.

    In 1924 his first exhibition was held at the Liceo in Milan and immediately attracted the attention of critics and artists such as Carlo Carrà.

    In 1925 he reaped his first successes at the Rome Biennale and continued to exhibit at the Quadriennale in Turin and at other important exhibitions in Milan, Florence, Bologna and Rijeka.
