    Luis Pinto-Coelho was born in Lisbon in 1942. He studied Painting at ESBAL and later moved to Madrid in 1961. Under the guidance of painter Luís Garcia-Ochoa, he developed his artistic skills. Pinto-Coelho received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1964/65. Throughout his career, he held numerous solo exhibitions in Portugal, Sweden, France, and Spain. Known for his versatility, Pinto-Coelho engaged in various artistic projects, including sculpture, mural painting, ceramics, tapestry, scenography, graphic arts, photography, decoration, and design.
