About Lulu Saxon

    Active in New Orleans between 1885 and 1922, Lulu Saxon was a landscape painter and sketch artist who was also a writer, poet, amateur actress, singer, and musician. She studied with Andres Molinary, Bror Anders Wikstrom and F. Arthur Callender. She was a member of the Artists' Associations of New Orleans.

    Exhibitions include the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition (1884-1885); Artists's Association of New Orleans (1887, 1889-97, 1899, 1901, 1902), and Art Association of New Orleans (1910, 1915). In 1922, she exhibited at the Arts and Crafts Club paintings she had done in Russia.

    She was married to Walter Lyle Saxon.
