    Artist and ceramist, died of cancer on September 30, 2014 at her Greenport, Long Island home at age 65. Buzio's work was widely acclaimed in the ceramics field and was seen in major museum exhibitions across the country. Inspired by the buildings and skyline of lower Manhattan, her most noted ceramic vessels combining cylinders, cones, and hemispheres twist and juxtapose the roof lines, architectural details, and water towers of the city into a magical panorama that captures the urban scene.

    Born in Uruguay, in 1948, she studied with artists of the Taller Torres-Garcia in Montevideo. Buzio moved to New York City in 1971. In ...
