    Lydia Maria Brewster Hubbard was born on a farm in Cornwall, CT on February15, 1849. Lydia married Rollin M. Hubbard in 1869 and lived with him in Toledo, Ohio until returning to Connecticut in 1897. Although the mother of eight children, she studied at the Art Students League in New York City. She was active in the New Haven art scene at the turn of the century. During her later years she spent winters in Laguna Beach. She died in Los Angeles on July 14, 1911. Her forte was floral still lifes.

    Exhibited: New Haven Paint & Clay Club, 1900.
