Most of Manuel's portraits are of characters belonging to the highest classes of society. Among these, there are different members of royalty, the nobility and the high bourgeoisie. Examples of this are those of King Alfonso XIII; the Duke of Alba; Isabel de Moncada; the Duchess of Durcal; or the beautiful portrait of Pilar Landecho, Marquesa de Urquijo. His work shows his exceptional talent in this genre, showing painting of great technical virtuosity impregnated with a balanced, and a serene and contained atmosphere. The artist passed away in 1963.
