After High School and Art school he joined the Army Medical Corps in Feb. 1943 and returned from action in the European Theater in World War II with an honorable discharge in Nov. 1945. He lived and worked in California as a commercial artist and moved to Oregon in the early 1960's and met and married Merita Ystad and continued working as a commercial artist until his retirement.
He loved painting and fishing.
