    Marian Konieczny (Jasionowo 1930 – Kraków 2017) was a sculptor. In 1948 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Studying with Xawery Dunikowski, under his supervision in 1954 he received his diploma. Over the next four years he studied at the I.E. Institute, Repina of the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad. In 1958 he started working at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1974 he became an associate professor, and in 1988 he became full professor. In the years 1972–1981 he was the rector of this university. He was the creator of several dozen monuments in Poland and abroad, including "Heroes of Warsaw - Nike Warszawska" (1964), Monument of the Revolutionary Action in Rzeszó...
