    Marie Howet was born in 1897. He was trained in the workshop of Van Strydonck while perfecting in Paris. He was Prix de Rome in 1922. Marie Howet had a preference for landscapes, woods and farms, festivals, figures, nudes, portraits. Howet finds inspiration in the Ardennes and the valley of the Semois. In Paris, she made a few blue-gray portraits in the style of the Nabis. His palette consists of bright colors: lots of blue, emerald green and ultramarine blue. His impressionist style was close to Fauvism. Howet traveled to France, Italy, Greece, Ireland and England. She had a workshop in Brussels.
