Marilyn Chace Schofield was born in 1936 into an old New England Family. She died on June 23, 2011 on her beloved Cape Cod. During her long career as an artist, she painted throughout the Cape Cod area,most particularly in the Eastham area. In addition to painting the native scenery she taught painting to countless others, many of whom became professional artists.

Schofield was a true impressionist, in every sense of the word, using vibrant color and broken brushwork to make even the most quiet moment on the Cape come to life.
