    A 20th-century Texas artist, Marilyn Kincheloe was a painter, etcher, ceramist, fabric artist and teacher. Painting subjects were Southwest landscapes including Taos, New Mexico and floral studies.

    She was born in Mobeetie, Texas and was educated at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana; the State College for Women in Denton, Texas; and the New York School of Interior Decoration. Her studies included piano and foreign language as well as visual arts. She had additional art training with Alexander Hogue, Frank Klepper, Martha Simkins, John Knott and Ramon Froman. She also studied oil and mural painting with Carl von Hassler of Munich, Germany.
