About Marion Howard

  • Biography

Marion P. Howard, born 1883, was from the Roxbury section of Boston, and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She later moved from Marlboro, Massachusetts to Washington, D.C. from 1917 to 1921. Howard exhibited in a two-woman show with Mary Rosamond Coolidge (b. 1884) at the Boston City Club. Howard's landscapes reveal the influence of a previous teacher, Tarbell, in their pastel coloration, soft contours, and thought-provoking mood. She took great interest in the winter scene genre.
