    Marion Long RCA, OSA, HC, OIP (1882 - 1970)

    A prominent Canadian painter, Marion Long was born in Toronto, Ontario, lived there her whole life, and died there. She was the second woman ever elected to full membership in the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts*. Her works are in several Canadian museums including the National Gallery of Canada. (1)

    Her primary mediums were oil, pastel, watercolor, charcoal and mixed mediums. Her subjects were portraits, still life, figures, interiors, urban street scenes, old houses, genre* and, during World War II, service men and women. Her styles were Realism* and Impressionism*.
