About Martha (Allen) Armstrong

    Martha Armstrong was born in 1935 in Brunswick, Georgia. She studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in London, where she developed a foundation in classical techniques and figurative illustration.

    Early in her career, Armstrong was commissioned to create the illustration for the inaugural brochure of the Texas Instrument Art Exhibit, marking her entry into the professional art world.

    Armstrong has exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Glassell School of Art. Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution and the Carl G. Jung Educational Center.
