Mateusz Szczypinski was born in 1984 in Piekary Slaskie . In his paintings, he uses the oil technique combined with skillfully selected elements of the collage, which makes them faithful to the painting tradition, and at the same time fresh and surprising. The artist's work from 2010 is an example of an early series of works in which Szczypinski referred primarily to the canon of European art, introducing modifications both with a brush and with ready-made collage cuttings.
