    Melchor Domenge I Antiga, born in 1871 in Olot, Girona, Spain, was a talented artist who trained at the School of Fine Arts in Olot and later taught there. He was a disciple of Joaquín Vayreda and completed his training at the La Lonja School in Barcelona. Domenge was known for his landscape paintings, particularly his skill in capturing morning and twilight back-lights. He worked on portraits and religious themes as well, showcasing a more synthetic style compared to his master. Domenge's art was focused on nature and he opposed anything that hindered its depiction. He is mainly represented in the Museum of Fine Arts in Olot.
