At the age of twelve, he entered the Royal Academy of San Carlos de Valencia, thanks to the influence and interest that José Benlliure awoke for this child, since, according to the rules of said school, access was not allowed to minors under fourteen years of age.

Among his teachers he counted on were some of the most brilliant painters of the moment such as Don Ricardo Verde Salvat, Don Vicente Mulet and Don José Benlliure Gil himself. Starting in 1923, when Miguel Vaquer was thirteen years old, he began to win important awards related to the world of art.
