Modest Teixidor Y Torres was a Spanish painter known for his portraits, landscapes, and customs subjects. He received various awards and medals for his work, including the third prize at the National Exhibition of Madrid in 1887. Teixidor trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona and furthered his studies in Paris under Carolus-Duran and Jules Bastien-Lepage.
