    Modest Teixidor Y Torres was a Spanish painter known for his portraits, landscapes, and customs subjects. He received various awards and medals for his work, including the third prize at the National Exhibition of Madrid in 1887. Teixidor trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona and furthered his studies in Paris under Carolus-Duran and Jules Bastien-Lepage. He exhibited both individually and collectively, participating in exhibitions such as those at the Sala Parés and the Sitges Fine Arts Exhibition of 1892. Teixidor was a member of the Centro de Excursionistas de Cataluña and received prestigious awards such as the highest prize at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900 and the gold medal of the José Masriera AwarInformation provided by the user....
