Nicolas Moreno was born in 1923 in Mexico City. He studied at La Esmeralda and at the Academia de San Carlos, an institution in which he practiced teaching from 1951. He was a disciple of José Chávez Morado, Alfredo Zalce, Julio Castellanos and Carlos Alvarado Lang. Moreno's work is characterized by having been made based on his own memories of the valleys, mountains, volcanoes and Mexican lakes. The themes come from the recreation of the natural scenes that in his life he observed during his trips through the different states of the republic.
