    Norbert Bisky (born 1970, Leipzig)

    He is one of the most important contemporary artists and a proponent of the 'New Realism'. Bisky studied with Georg Baselitz at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Bisky's early work shows young athletic men in a seemingly ideal world, depicted in a bright sunlight. His later works became more and more radical. Bisky is inspired by the art of the Renaissance and the Pop Art. Also, Alexander Deineka, Leni Riefenstahl, Francisco de Goya and Jusepe de Ribera inspired his oeuvre.
