Octave Landuyt is a Belgian artist who does painting, sculptures (ceramic and bronze), and jewelry. He also designs household furniture, industrial furniture and decors for television, opera and theater performances.

Landuyt was born on 26 December 1922 in Ghent. Because of the work of his father, the family had to move frequently. They lived in Eeklo ( 1929 ) and Courtrai ( 1931 ). From the clay pits Landuyt took great material to sculpt figures. The large metal objects which ships are anchored along the canal Kortrijk-Bossuyt inspired the forms of would occur typical forms to emerge for many works.
