    Otto Altenkirch lived from 1875 to 1945. He was a German landscape painter and known representative of post-impressionism. The beginnings of his fondness for landscapes already back to his studies in fine arts. First, know at Berlin, then at the Dresden Academy Eugen Bracht and Emanuel Hegenbarth, learned Altenkirch members of Goppeln circle. This made him familiar with the open-air painting. The dominant theme of his painting the fertile environment of Dresden was together with the Elbe Valley.
