Otto Ditscher was a German painter and member of the artists' association 'Pfälzische Sezession'. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1922-25 with Max Doerner and Adolf Schinnerer. Ditscher's work includes formal landscape painting, portraits, and still lifes, as well as abstract compositions and collages. The featured work depicts a colorful beach scene, atmospherically moved by the alternating use of dotted and quickly painted color application, giving it a pleasant dynamic.
