    Otto Fischer Trachau studied until 1907 under Richard Müller at the Academy in Dresden, Germany. In 1915 he worked as a war correspondent in France. After the war, he was a member of the Hamburg secession and participated in their exhibitions until the closure in 1933.

    Fischer Trachau was a painter and interior decorator who designed among other things, the interiors of buildings that have emerged under the architect Fritz Schumacher, head of the Hamburg building authorities.

    In 1927 he took over the design of the pillared hall of the Grassi Museum that went back to its original color scheme in 2010.
