    Paul Husner was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1942. Husner moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1964, studied in paintings and graphic art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (1965 - 1967) and continued to Rijks Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (1967 - 1969). Husner frequently visits Indonesia especially Bali. He received awards from the Urio Prijs (1969), Willink van Collen Prijs (1971), Jeanna Bieruma Oosting Prijs (1974) and Arti Medaille (1987). From 1980 - 1988 he was professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts (Rijks Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten) in Amsterdam where he taught drawing and painting.
