While still in college he was commissioned to paint murals for the Columbus Ohio Zoological Association. As a young man he moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania. Living on the banks of the Delaware, he was influenced by the work of his neighbor, John Folinsbee. Enamored of the earlier generation of Bucks County artists, Pusecker abandoned his abstract expressionism training to develop an impressionistic style suited to the bucolic scenery of Bucks County. Paul A. Pusecker was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1932. Studying under Roy Lichtenstein and Marion and Robert Gatrell, he graduated from Ohio State University majoring in Fine Arts. While still in college he was commissioned to paint murals for the Columbus Ohio Zoological Association.
As a young man he moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania. Living on the banks of the Delaware, he was influenced by the work of his neighbor, John Folinsbee. Enamored of the earlier generation of Bucks County artists, Pusecker abandoned his abstract expressionism training to develop an impressionistic style suited to the bucolic scenery of Bucks County.
Pusecker traveled and studied extensively in Europe. Now living in Montville, New Jersey, he continues to paint the rural countrysides. Through his paintings he seeks to chronicle the disappearing landscapes of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Several of his prize-winning pieces are held by Ohio State University. His murals are also at various USAF 8th Air Force facilities.
