    Pauline Bliss Williams, also known as Mrs. Ronald Croft, was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1888. After her early education there, she re-located to New York City where she studied at the Art Students League where she took classes with Robert Henri, Vincent DuMond, F. Louis Mora, and George Bellows.

    While also known as a lecturer, illustrator and designer, Williams specialized in bright and impressionistic landscapes, portraits, still-lifes, and highly detailed miniatures painted on a variety of materials including canvas, ivory and porcelain.
