    Peter Alfred Schou (b. 8. Oktober 1844 in Slagelse; d. 21. November 1914 in Copenhagen) was a Danish painter and the younger brother of the painter Ludwig Abelin Schou (1838–1867).

    A businessman by training, Schou worked in Hamburg, Germany from 1865 on. In the winter of 1973 he moved to Dresden for several months in order to study at the art academy.

    From 1876 he completely dedicated himself to his art. He went to Paris to study with portrait painter and caricaturist Théobald Chartran and history painter Léon Bonnat. In 1880 he exhibited some of his paintings in Paris.
