    Peter Gilman lived early life in Surrey, Englanf moving to the village of Ashwell around the late 60's where he became a full time professional artist. He had a contract with Rowneys (artist materials) and tutored professionally.

    He painted the landscape of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and East Anglia being much influenced by the work of Edward Seago.

    His style is representational, traditional, distinctive and reminiscent of Seago. He was also a member of the Prestigious Wapping Group of Artists (invitees only may join), which numbered Leslie Kent among its members. He also included artist Trevor Chamberlain in his circle.
