  • Biography

    Petrus Wandrey studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and then at the local Academy of Fine Arts. He worked in various media and created illustrations for record covers as well as newspapers and magazines.

    Inspired by Dalí and Dadaism, Wandrey’s work first showed surrealist influences. In the search of his own formal language, he eventually found what he was looking for in the world of the early computer games.

    In 1978, Wandrey coined the term of ‘digitalism’. The subsequent years were followed by various groups of works, including sculptures, assemblages and images, that combine art and technology.
