    Philippe Cara Costea was a French artist who attended Collège Stanislas and later studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. At the age of 23, he traveled to Tahiti, inspired by Gauguin, accompanied by his friend Philippe Lejeune. Cara Costea received a state scholarship in 1955 and his works are housed in prestigious institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Library of France.
