    Pierre Manoli, born December 15, 1927 in Cairo and died February 9, 2001 in La Richardais, was a French sculptor of Cretan origin. He created many monumental works as part of public cities, states and and government's commissions. In 1950 he moved to France, studied art in Paris, first at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs (Decorative Arts 1951-1957) and then at the École des Beaux-Arts.

    He worked in clay, plaster, stone (in 1964, he made sculptures using a technique of which he is the inventor: the fusion of granite) but in all, he preferred metal. The artist experimented extensively with the materials he used. In 1961, he made his first projections of molten metal in water and the technique...
