    Pinchas Shaar, a Polish native, survived five years in a concentration camp during his teenage years. After the war, he moved to Munich to study art and later to Paris to complete his education. In 1956, he immigrated to Israel, where he gained recognition as an illustrator of Hebrew literature. Shaar's artwork often features themes of Jewish folklore, history, and symbols of freedom through fantastical aviary motives. He continued to exhibit his work in various locations, including Paris.
