Chinese artist Qin Qi’s oeuvre can be characterised by surrealist still lifes, landscapes and elements of nature placed in startling, defamiliarised environments. He experiments with familiar forms and reconfigures their pictorial language, assembling these varied subjects to depict the coexistence of different worlds in inventive compositions.

The viewer is transported to a new dimension as he frees things from their everyday contexts, and conjoins otherwise logically disparate elements, such as a white goose and a bed, to manifest impossible realities.
