    Wu Qingxia, also known as Wu Deshu, was a female Chinese artist born in Changzhou, Jiangsu. She was the daughter of Mr. Wu Zhongxi, a collector and connoisseur of Jiangnan. In 1934, she co-founded the Chinese Women's Painting and Calligraphy Association with Li Qiujun, Zhou Lianxia, and Lu Xiaoman.

    Wu was employed as a painter at the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy in 1956 and her work "A Thousand Purples and Thousands of Reds" was selected into Japan's "World Famous Paintings".

    She was a member of the China Artists Association, director of Shanghai Branch of Artists Association, director of China International Cultural Exchange Center, member of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, academician of Italian Europ...
