Rafal Kostrzewa was born in 1961 in Warsaw. Rafal's early youth was spent in Moscow, and his study took place at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts where Rafal received a diploma. Rafal studied with prof. Tadeusz Dominik in 1987. Kostrzewa's first solo exhibition was in 1985. Two years later, he showed his works in Rotterdam at the local Academy of Fine Arts and Galeri Alles. In December of 2003 publication was released that was dedicated to the artist, "Rafal Kostrzewa - Ghost images". His painting is inspired by nature and the animal world, which is often a topic of self. Silhouettes of dogs, foxes and other quadrupeds densely fill the canvas and are the sole protagonists.
