    Rainer Kriester is a German painter and sculptor known for his abstracted heads in artworks such as the 'Great White Head Sign' in the Chancellery in Berlin. He studied at the Berlin Art Academy and later lived in Vendone, Liguria from 1982 onwards. Kriester's work includes a series of 140 sculptures titled "Viaggio in Africa I" and "Viaggio in Africa II" created in 1996/97, as well as the large bronze sculpture 'Segni solari' in New York in 1997/98.
