    Raymond Rivoire was a celebrated French sculptor who was born in Cussel. A pupil of Injalbert, Rivoire participated in the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1905 onward and received an honorable commendation in 1906 and the Silver medal in 1921 followed by the Gold in 1929.

    Further success lead to international exhibitions including in London, Rome and Buenos Aires. The artist is represented in several public collections including a marble statue of a bather in the Luxembourg City Art Museum and his statue of Joan of Arc in Moulins Cathedral.
